Krishnapura Chattris: Road Widening: Another Religious Structure Removed | Indore News
Indore: Another place of worship was removed on Friday to clear the way for ongoing road widening works between Bada Ganpati Square and Krishnapura Chattris. Indore Smart City Development Limited (ISCDL) now hopes to complete the project by June 30.
The ISCDL had identified at least a dozen places of worship, including temples and mosques, as part of the road-widening project and urged priests, clerics, religious leaders and residents to remove partially/completely the structures to pave the way for the completion of the works. “We are getting a good response as parts of the structures of around half a dozen places of worship have already been removed,” said ISCDL CEO Rishav Gupta.
He said ISCDL officials were approaching the concerned people/custodians of the remaining 5-6 places of worship and most of them also agreed to remove parts of their structures in the coming days.
“With this, we expect to complete the project by June 30, which was delayed due to arrangements for the Rangpanchami procession in March,” he said. The 1.5 km road between Bada Ganpati Square and Krishnapura Chattris is one of the busy roads passing through the Rajwada region and after the widening works the traffic congestion is expected to ease which will facilitate commuters on this road.
