Religious fervor marks Ugadi festivities
Tirupati/Kadapa: The people of the district celebrated the Subhakrutanama Ugadi festival with religious fervor and cheerfulness. After two years of pandemic fears, this time the whole neighborhood was in a festive mood and people started buying the flowers, fruits, neem flower to make ‘Ugadi pachadi’ and other things from Friday itself with great enthusiasm and the markets wore a festive look.
TTD celebrated the festival by observing Ugadi Asthanam at Tirumala Temple on Saturday morning. The Asthanam was held at Bangaru Vakili where the processional deities of Srivaru and his wives along with Visvaksena were seated facing Garudalwar. New vastrams were offered to all deities on the auspicious occasion. Later Panchanga Shravanam was performed in the presence of deities. Then the traditional Rupai Harati was offered and Naivedyam was distributed.
YV Subba Reddy, TTD Chairman, Additional EO AV Dharma Reddy, CVSO Gopinath Jatti, JEO (H&E) Sada Bhargavi, Deputy Temple EO Ramesh Babu, Peishkar Srihari, VGO Bali Reddy were present. Minister of Information and Public Relations Perni Venkatramaiah alias Nani and others were present.
The Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and TTD Wellness Wings held another program at the Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati. TD JEO V Veerabrahmam attended the program and said as in the name “Subhakrut” that everything is going smoothly in this auspicious year with the blessings of Sri Padmavathi Srinivasa. Later TTD Agama Advisor Dr. Vedantam Vishnubhattacharya rendered Panchanga Shravanam by giving the celestial equations and incidence probabilities across the country as well as the world to Subhakrutnama Samvatsara.
A costume contest was organized for the children of employees in mythological and traditional characters followed by the distribution of prizes in quizzes, poetry contests organized for employees on the occasion of Ugadi.
Program Officer of All Hindu Projects L Vijaya Saradhi, Welfare Officer Damodaram and Director of SV College of Music and Dance TM Sudhakar and other officers, employees were also present. In Kadapa, TTD Vedic Pandit KH Rajesh Battar performed Panchanga Sravanam to mark the Telugu New Year. On the occasion, Collector V Vijaya Rama Raju wished the people of the district and commended 4 Archakas and Vedic Pandits, Poets, with 10,116 cash Letters of Appreciation and gave 5,116 rupees in cash to KH Rajesh Battar .
